Karon Beach
A sandy beach of about 3–4 km, one of the longest on Phuket's west coast, with a beachside path and hotels along it. Waves are strong in the monsoon season, so check the warning flags.
Kata Beach
The beach just south of Karon, a few minutes away, with a family feel and Koh Pu island in the bay.
Karon Viewpoint
A viewpoint on the coast road south of Kata Noi overlooking the bays of Kata Noi, Kata and Karon. Tell us in advance if you want a photo stop.
Wat Suwan Khiri Khet (Karon Temple)
Karon's community temple near the Karon roundabout; an evening market is held in the grounds on some days of the week. Dress modestly inside the temple.
Patong Beach
Phuket's busiest resort beach, north of Karon over the hill. Best visited in the evening as a separate trip.
Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha
The Big Buddha on Nakkerd Hill is not far from Karon, and Wat Chalong is the island's best-known temple. Dress modestly when visiting.
