Talay Thai seafood market
Thailand's largest wholesale seafood market, busiest between 4am and 8am, with both wholesale and retail sections. Bring your own foam boxes or ice chests to get the catch home in good condition.
Mahachai market and Tha Chalom
The central fresh market beside Mahachai railway station, with a short ferry across to Tha Chalom, where you will find Thawai Road — Thailand's first concrete road — and old Chinese shrines.
Wat Yai Chom Prasat
An Ayutthaya-era temple on the Tha Chin river, notable for its beautifully preserved carved wooden doors — worth the stop for anyone interested in art and history.
Phan Thai Norasing Shrine
A popular shrine where people pray about integrity and career matters, in Mueang district, with seafood restaurants and shrimp farms nearby.
Salt fields at Ban Phaeo and Khok Kham
Vast salt pans stretch to the horizon here, and from January to April the harvest season lines the fields with white salt mounds — a striking spot for late afternoon photographs.
Samut Sakhon Industrial Estate
The centre of seafood processing and cold storage. Entry passes a checkpoint, so give the driver the host company name and an internal contact number beforehand to avoid delays.

At only 82 km, an early start puts you at Talay Thai market when the catch is freshest and back in Bangkok before noon.

What does a van charter to Samut Sakhon cost?
A Toyota Commuter is ฿2,700 per trip and a Toyota Alphard is ฿7,500, including fuel, tolls, the driver and bottled water. It is a whole-vehicle rate rather than per passenger, with nothing added on the day.
Can we shop for seafood early and return straight away?
Easily — it is one of our regular runs. Leaving Bangkok at 3am puts you at the market just after 4, and you can be home before 8. If you want the van to wait while you shop, a 3 to 4 hour charter is more flexible.
How much seafood can the van carry?
A Commuter takes roughly 6 to 10 medium foam boxes with 6 to 8 passengers aboard. For commercial volumes, tell us in advance — we may need fewer passengers or a second vehicle, and we will advise honestly.
Can you handle corporate visits to the industrial estate?
Yes, we do factory and meeting runs regularly. Have the host company name and an internal contact number ready for the driver to clear the checkpoint quickly. For several plants in one day, an hourly charter works best.
Will seafood odour be a problem, or is there a cleaning fee?
Properly sealed foam boxes or bags cause no issue and we do not charge a cleaning fee. We simply ask that leaking fresh goods are not placed directly on the seats — tell the driver in advance and he will arrange space and protective covering.
On a full-day charter, what if we go over the time or distance?
If the van and driver stay with your group all day (same-day return or sightseeing stops), packages start at 7 hours · 210 km (Commuter ฿4,800 / Alphard ฿11,450). Extra time is ฿300 per hour for the Commuter or ฿600 per hour for the Alphard, and extra distance is ฿25/km (Commuter) or ฿45/km (Alphard). Entrance tickets are extra, and if you add stops or change plans along the way, we always tell you the price difference first. One-way transfers (Commuter ฿2,700 / Alphard ฿7,500) are a fixed fare with no extra time or distance charges.
