Pha Kep Tawan viewpoint
A popular clifftop lookout over ranges of hills with wide sunset views, on the Khao Phaeng Ma road. Best in late afternoon; the approach is a mountain road with steep sections.
Khao Phaeng Ma
A forest restoration area home to wild gaur, with evening wildlife watching where herds sometimes come out to graze. Keep quiet and avoid using flash.
Vineyards and shiitake farms
Wang Nam Khiao is known for cool-climate vegetables and shiitake mushrooms, and several farms welcome visitors and sell fresh produce — good fun for children.
Thap Lan National Park
Thailand's largest lan palm forest, with nature trails and camping grounds. Entry fees are separate and the climate stays pleasant year round.
Mountain-view cafés
Route 304 and the side roads are lined with newer cafés overlooking the hills, many with open lawns where children can run about — an easy stop en route or before heading home.

How long is Bangkok to Wang Nam Khiao?
About three to three and a half hours for the 215 km, taking Route 304 through Chachoengsao and Kabin Buri. Long weekends can stretch it to four hours, so an early start gets you there before afternoon for the best evening air.
What is included in ฿4,800?
Fuel, motorway and expressway tolls, the driver and bottled water. It is a flat one-way whole-vehicle rate. National park fees, accommodation, meals and ฿500 per night driver accommodation are separate.
When is the best time to visit?
November to February for cool air and morning mist, though it is busy and resorts book out early. For fewer crowds, June to September in the rainy season brings lush greenery and lower room rates.
Can the van stay with us overnight?
Yes, two ways. Either the van and driver stay, with ฿500 per night for driver accommodation, giving you transport throughout; or we drop you off, the van returns, and we come back at an agreed time with no accommodation charge.
Can we combine Wang Nam Khiao with Khao Yai?
