Wat Arun stands on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River. It is about 18 km by road from central Bangkok, although bridge traffic and congestion in the old city affect journey time. A private vehicle can drop you at the Arun Amarin Road entrance, or you can be dropped at Tha Tien for the ferry and meet the driver on the other bank. The one-way fare is ฿1,500 for a Toyota Commuter or ฿3,500 for a Toyota Alphard, including driver, fuel, tolls and confirmed parking. Choose an hourly charter for sunset, Wat Pho or the Grand Palace.

Is it better to reach Wat Arun by road or ferry?
For Wat Arun only, a road drop-off on the Thonburi side is simplest. When combining Wat Pho or the Grand Palace, the Tha Tien ferry often makes the itinerary easier.
Does the fare include temple admission or the ferry?
No. Admission, ferry tickets, meals and activities are separate. The displayed fare covers the private vehicle and driver.
Can the driver wait and take us back?

Yes. Allow 4–6 hours, start in the morning and leave time for the ferry, admission checks and old-city traffic.
Is Wat Arun suitable for a stroller or older traveller?
Many ground-level areas are accessible, but the prang steps are steep. Tell us about mobility needs so the closest practical drop-off and timing can be planned.
Can you provide a child seat?
Yes, when booked in advance. Send the child's age, weight and height and wait for the seat photo confirmation before paying a deposit.
How long does it take from central Bangkok?
Usually 35–70 minutes depending on the bridge, rush hour and exact pickup point. The driver checks timing again before travel.
On a full-day charter, what if we go over the time or distance?
If the van and driver stay with your group all day (same-day return or sightseeing stops), packages start at 3 hours · 90 km (Commuter ฿2,400 / Alphard ฿6,000). Extra time is ฿300 per hour for the Commuter or ฿600 per hour for the Alphard, and extra distance is ฿25/km (Commuter) or ฿45/km (Alphard). Entrance tickets are extra, and if you add stops or change plans along the way, we always tell you the price difference first. One-way transfers (Commuter ฿1,500 / Alphard ฿3,500) are a fixed fare with no extra time or distance charges.
