Koh Tao ferry piers
Chumphon has several piers used by different ferry companies, including Thung Makham and Pak Nam Chumphon. Confirm which one your operator uses and tell us when booking.
Thung Wua Laen Beach
Chumphon's main beach, about 4 km long with clear water and gentle surf, resorts and seafood restaurants along the sand, and few crowds even at weekends — a good overnight before or after the boat.

How long is Bangkok to Chumphon?
About six and a half to seven and a half hours for the 484 km along Phetkasem, or eight to nine on long weekends. For a morning ferry, staying in Chumphon the night before is the safer plan.
Can you drop us at the Koh Tao pier?
Yes, right at the terminal with your luggage. Chumphon has several piers used by different operators, so confirm yours and tell us the name at booking — we time arrival for at least an hour before departure.
Does ฿9,000 include the ferry?
No. The ฿9,000 is the one-way vehicle charter covering fuel, tolls, driver and water. Ferry tickets are paid to the boat company and vary by vessel type and season.
Can you carry dive gear and large bags?
Comfortably. The Commuter takes roughly 8 to 10 large bags or equipment pieces with 9 passengers. For more, tell us at booking and we will advise on fewer passengers or a second van.
Can we arrange a pick-up on the way back from Koh Tao?
Yes, and we recommend it — vehicles waiting at Chumphon's piers are limited. Give us the return ferry date and time at the outbound booking and a van will meet the boat.
