Don Sak pier
The main ferry terminal for Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, used by several operators including Raja and Seatran from different berths. Confirm which one your ticket uses and tell us at booking.
Khao Sok National Park and Cheow Lan reservoir
One of the world's oldest rainforests, with limestone karsts rising from the water — often called Thailand's Guilin. Longtail boats reach the raft houses; book ahead and arrive at the pier before noon.
Surat Thani town and San Chao market
A riverside city on the Tapi with authentic, inexpensive southern food. San Chao market is well stocked in the evening — a good meal stop before or after the ferry.
Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya
A Srivijaya-era chedi over 1,200 years old and among the most significant ancient monuments in the south, in Chaiya district on the road before Surat Thani town.
Suan Mokkh
The forest meditation monastery founded by Buddhadasa Bhikkhu in Chaiya, shaded and profoundly quiet, open to visitors and retreatants.
Town piers for Koh Tao and Phangan
Besides Don Sak, some sailings to Koh Tao and Koh Phangan leave from piers in the city. Check with your ferry company before fixing your travel time.

How long is Bangkok to Don Sak pier?
About nine to eleven hours for the 694 km to Surat Thani town, with Don Sak a further ninety minutes on. Staying overnight and taking a morning ferry is safer than racing to catch a boat the same day.
Does ฿15,000 include the Samui ferry?
No. The ฿15,000 is the one-way vehicle charter covering fuel, motorway tolls, driver and water. Ferry tickets are paid to the boat company and vary by operator and ticket type.
Is a van charter better value than flying?
It depends on numbers and luggage. For two to four people, flying into Surat Thani or Samui is much faster. For eight to ten with large bags and dive gear, ฿15,000 split works out around ฿1,600 each with no baggage fees and door service to the pier.
Can we stop at Khao Sok on the way?
Yes — it is about two hours from Surat Thani town on the same road. A multi-day plan works well, such as a night on a Cheow Lan raft house before the islands. Send the itinerary on LINE and we will sequence it.
Can you meet us at the pier on the way back from Samui?
Yes, and we recommend it. Give us your return ferry date and time at the outbound booking and a van will be waiting at Don Sak as the boat docks — vehicles there are limited, especially on long weekends.
